Gelatin Operator 2nd Shift

Cerritos Office

Summary:  The Gelatin Operator is responsible for safe operations and the manufacturing of gelatin mass.

Shift Schedule: Monday to Friday 2:00 PM to 10:30 PM. Overtime Offered.

Duties and Responsibilities: 

  • Follow safety regulations, supervisor’s instructions, and cGMP regulations.
  • Dress in appropriate personal protective equipment.
  • Maintain clean working environment along with cleaning instruments and equipment.
  • Push team efforts with each operator in department.
  • Review all production record books and documents findings.
  • Cross reference all production activity with gelatin batch record.
  • Manufacture gelatin mass 4 hours before encapsulation.
  • Provide “hands-on” training to new gelatin employees
  • Adhere to gowning procedures
  • Operate equipment in a safe manner
  • Maintain gelatin area for general cleanliness, especially around melters
  • Report any foul play, accident, and complaint of personnel
  • Assure MFG. equipment is in proper working order; request maintenance work orders, when necessary
  • Avoid spills and waste of materials.
  • Report consumed materials and colors stock quantity
  • Clean tanks and equipment when and if necessary

Education Requirements: 

  • Minimum high school diploma or G.E.D. preferred.

Work Experience/Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working with gelatin equipment preferred.
