CAPTEK Softgel International, Inc. is a leading softgel contract manufacturer (CMO) in the vitamins, minerals, and supplements (VMS) industry. Championing wellness worldwide since 1996, our team of 730 employees based in California, are driven to produce high-quality nutraceutical products and bulk stock softgel capsules and supplements. We do this through research & development and innovative delivery systems coupled with rigorous quality assurance and quality control standards.

David Wood

Chief Executive Officer

David Wood’s 25 years in the healthcare industry, including softgel contract manufacturing at the executive level at Catalent/R.P. Scherer, make him a leader in his field. David is adept at building high performing executive teams and leading international manufacturing and service organizations with full P&L responsibility. His pharmaceutical contract manufacturing experience has served him well in pushing CAPTEK to the highest compliance standards in the industry. He is known as a strategic visionary with a clear sense of purpose and urgency during both challenging periods and rapid growth.

David is a highly regarded leader who specializes in helping teams get clarity on their mission and lead them to outperform even their own expectations. He leads with a strategic, pragmatic, results-driven orientation with a clear sense of purpose and urgency, and has helped establish operational excellence within diverse environments in the US and Europe.

A native of Canada, David earned his degree in Economics from the University of Western Ontario. David started his career in Toronto, then transferred down to New Jersey in 1998 with Becton Dickinson. After enjoying 13 years in New Jersey, he was brave enough to move his wife and teenage daughters to the West Coast. Having survived the move, after 3 years in Southern California, David enjoys racing sailboats in Long Beach as well as punishing himself on the golf course as often as his self-esteem will allow.

Theresa Johnson

Human Resources Director

“I have a knack for speaking employee lingo.” Theresa has spent nearly 20 years in HR – an accomplished career during which she’s built cohesive teams and provided guidance to senior leadership teams during rapid change and growth transitions. Recognized as a consensus builder among diverse groups, she brings a wealth of professional strengths and industry experience to CAPTEK as Human Resources Director.

Before joining the CAPTEK team, Theresa has led important HR initiatives, for companies in different industries, while always remaining cost-conscious. She is well known for being an engaged mentor and talent manager within her network.

Theresa is passionate about building careers and enjoys helping employees and the management team connect on what’s really important to them. She has a burning desire to leave everything better than the way she found it.

Theresa earned her Bachelor’s Degree in Communications from the University of Southern California and her Master’s Degree in Organizational Development from the University of La Verne.

Outside of work, you can usually find her enjoying her other passion, which is live music. She’s been to over 350 concerts in her lifetime and the list keeps growing. Other interests include The Walking Dead, the Los Angeles Dodgers and USC Trojans football. FIGHT ON!

Tim Chiprich

VP, Product Development

Building on over 25 years of experience in Product Development, Tim has a thorough understanding of what is needed to make even challenging softgel concepts into reality.

Prior to joining the CAPTEK team, Tim Chiprich held R&D management positions at Nutrition Express, Leiner Health Products and at R.P. Scherer. He also held Scientist / Formulator positions at General Nutrition Products and Pennex Products. In his roles, he led teams responsible for the development of pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, and cosmetic products in softgels, hard shell capsules, tablets, liquids, and powdered dosage forms but his passion is softgels. He has also participated in gelatin research and new technology projects and has several pending and granted patents involving specialty gelatin-based products and delivery systems.

A native of western Pennsylvania, Tim earned a Bachelor of Science degree from the California University of Pennsylvania. He lived and worked in Pittsburgh, PA, Greenville, SC, St. Petersburgh, FL and Charlotte, NC, before finding his way to California – his home now for the last 7 years. In his spare time, Tim enjoys hiking and is an avid collector of early American and classic coins.

Kevin Tully

SVP, Sales & Marketing

Kevin Tully joined CAPTEK as Senior Vice President of Sales and Marketing after nearly 25 years of experience in global sales and marketing, building market share for branded and private label manufacturing businesses.  

Prior to joining CAPTEK, Kevin spent the last 17 years at leading companies including Pharmavite, Nice-Pak, and Nature’s Bounty. Kevin consistently delivered double-digit sales growth by identifying and capitalizing on business opportunities. These include the establishment and growing of market share, and devising solutions to a wide range of business, sales, and marketing challenges. Kevin is recognized for his customer development and leadership, overseeing customer P&L, trade budget, and improving customer profitability. He has developed and maintained top-to-top customer relationships built on healthy client-focused values.

At CAPTEK, Kevin is an integral part of the leadership team and works closely with executives on developing strategic sales plans based on company goals that will promote sales growth and customer satisfaction for the organization. His marketing acumen will lead the company in developing new channel strategies, category growth, increased points of distribution, increased promotional executions, and pricing and retail performance objectives.

An Ohio native, Kevin earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from the University of Cincinnati. Kevin is married and has three adult children. In his spare time, Kevin enjoys spending time with family and friends and playing golf.

Terry Jackson

VP, Sales

Terry brings over 20 years of experience to the Dietary Supplement Industry.  During this time he has held senior management positions within the operations, sales and marketing departments. This invaluable and unique industry knowledge and experience has allowed Terry to successfully manage new and repeat product demands through the complete manufacturing process while maintaining a high degree of designed quality and service to our valued clients. Terry’s success at each stage of his career is evident by the operational stability and sales success being realized at CAPTEK.

As a Wisconsinite and graduate of the University of Wisconsin (On Wisconsin!), Terry hitched his wagon on a one-way journey to Southern California over 20 years ago and embarked on his continuing adventures into the dietary supplement world where he currently lives with his wife and two daughters.

Terry Keller

VP, Sales

Terry Keller joined CAPTEK as VP of Sales after nearly 30 years in the consumer packaged goods and dietary supplements industries.  His experience building private label manufacturing and branded businesses has earned him the reputation amongst customers and co-workers of being “extremely dedicated, strategic and resourceful, and one who places a premium on integrity, accountability, and communication.”

Terry has served in senior leadership sales and marketing roles across a range of companies – from large organizations to smaller, more entrepreneurial businesses; from privately-held to publicly-traded to private equity-owned.  He has cultivated top-to-top relationships with customers, retailers, and suppliers as a result of his commitment to building highly adaptable organizations and customer-driven cultures.  Terry’s complete product life-cycle expertise – from R&D to sourcing to manufacturing and operations to sell through – is a valuable resource not only to his customers but to internal teams and direct reports.

A graduate of the University of Wisconsin – Oshkosh, Terry and his wife have loved calling Utah home since 2000, where they enjoy upland bird hunting (with their five dogs!) and golf.  Terry is also an avid fly fisherman and skier.

Fon Wong

Chief Financial Officer

Fon Wong is a well-rounded business finance and accounting leader with a strategic business orientation, hands-on approach and demonstrated expertise in Finance and Accounting.  He has over 20 years’ experience in the consumer goods and pharmaceutical industries.

Prior to joining CAPTEK, Fon spent over 10 years in the CPG industry at both Ajinomoto Windsor Foods and Nestle USA.  In addition, he spent a number of years at NBTY/Leiner Health Products in the Dietary Supplements and OTC Drugs businesses.  As VP/CFO at Ajinomoto Windsor, Fon led teams in Corporate Finance, Accounting and Information Technology functions.

At CAPTEK, Fon is an integral part of the leadership team and works closely with executives on the strategic, business, and financial initiatives of the company, including post-merger functional integration and mid-term growth plan.

Fon migrated from China at an early age. He attended the University of Southern California and earned both a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (Cum Laude) and a Master in Business Administration.  Fon and his family have been long-time residents of Southern California.  Fon is an avid long-distance runner and a passionate college football fan.

We invest in the livelihood and longevity of our neighborhoods, cities and counties by giving time, treasure and talent to nonprofit organizations and programs that fill our heart and nourish our soul.

Committed to the environment, our Vista, California facility has a clean energy UTC 400kw hydrogen fuel cell. The roof supports the largest privately-owned photovoltaic (solar energy) system. It conserves enough energy to power 191 homes and offsets 1,139 tons of carbon annually. Our production facility is also LEED certified for core and shell.
