Low vitamin D may not be culprit in menopause
A good reason to look for in a new study of the Women’s Health Initiative (WHI), is the no significant connection between vitamin D levels and menopause symptoms. The number of symptoms and vitamin D levels had a borderline significant relationship at first. But after some adjustment, the association disappeared. With so many women taking vitamin D supplement these days, it is good to know what it can and cannot do. 530 women participated in the calcium and vitamin D WHI trial and the study was published online in Menopause, the journal of The North American Menopause Society.
